Private math tutoring for students grades 1 through 10.

Tutoring Session Length, Frequency, and Location

I have found that the most effective tutoring frequency is a minimum of 2 tutoring sessions a week and a maximum of 4.   Below 13 years of age, sessions are most often one-hour long, and for 13  to 16 year olds one-and-a-half hours long.  The vast majority of my tutoring sessions are conducted in the student's home, but I have other options availabale in Manhattan.

Student Evaluation

I can quickly identify a child's math strengths and weaknesses and make a plan to fill in the weakspots and boost your child's confidence with the expectatation that his or her grades will improve.  Obviously, I encourage parents to tell me their insights into how their child feels about his school's math class experience.

Example Rates

For students 13 years and younger.  
2 one-hour sessions $100

For students 13 years and older
2 one-and-a-half-hour sessions $150

Special math tutoring sessions for gifted students
I offer special tutoring sessions for 8 to 15 year-old gifted students, usally A to A+ students who want to learn mathematical concepts within their capabilites that are not in the standard school curriculum.  Your child and I will both have fun doing this.  $400 for 10 hours over the course of a month.
